Rummy Rush
A Rummylike Prototype
- Play tile-rummy against AI
- Play solitaire-like rummy puzzles
With reduced tile set for faster 2-player pacing.
- 4 colors
- 9 numbers
No in-game tutorial yet, but while that's in development, here's the rules:
Rules
Be the first with zero tiles remaining on your rack, which is on the bottom of the screen.
You place tiles on the table by forming melds, rows of 3 or more tiles:
- Runs - same color, increasing numbers.
- Example: { 7 Green, 8 Green, 9 Green }
- Groups - same number, different colors
- Example: {5 Green, 5 Orange, 5 Blue }
The game will show you valid runs and groups with a special outline.
A meld's value is the sum of its values. Example: 7 + 8 + 9 = 24.
First, score 21+ points with your opening melds to get out of quarantine. You can only use your own tiles at this stage.
After that, you can freely rearrange any melds already on the table in order to place your own tiles. But remember: all tiles on the table have to be in valid melds to end your turn.
If you cannot play anything, you draw a tile from the pool. If the pool is empty, you may pass.
The Joker (J) is powerful wildcard that can act as any number and any color. Use it to fill up any gaps.
If you're new to the game, play the puzzle mode! It will introduce you to board rearrangement skills with a gentle difficulty ramp.
Scoring
A match consists of 3 rounds. When someone wins a round:
- Every player with tiles left gets a negative score equal to the sum of the remaining tiles
- The winner gets a positive score equal to the sum of each other player's remaining tiles
Example:
- Winner: + 39
- Loser 1: -7
- Loser 2: -32
If the joker remains on a rack it is worth -30 points, be careful!
Scores for each round are added up at the end, and the highest-scoring player wins the match.
